Wherefore Art Thou Risan?

Tensions are rising between the Hylian camp and the Risan camp as the new year approaches.  Trying to outdo one another, each group holds a celebration to honor the Phoenix Fighters.  The Hylians host an elaborate ball with waltzing and toasts.  The Risans, meanwhile, have a storytelling new years ritual, complete with dancing around a fire.  The Phoenix Fighters struggle in between the two great races, trying to keep the peace, even though each voices strong disapproval of all the inter-racial marriages and relationships within the House itself.

In the midst of all the tension, Juliette, T'kar's widow and the leader of the Risan camp, chances to meet a young Hylian gardener named Pyramus.  The two of them are instantly drawn to one another, despite their best judgment.  As hard as they fight against it, the two of them, fall in love, though they must continually consumate their relationship in secret, each afraid of what could happen if it became public knowledge.  Neither can feel comfortable in the other's camp, especially following an incident in which three Hylian men end up beating up Insa for walking too close to their "territory."  Pyramus' older sister, Olga, who is the secular leader of the Hylians, banishes those responsible, but it only makes tensions grow.

Finally fed up with the situation, Juliette turns to Insa for support.  Insa has little to offer, still struggling to come to terms with her own circumstances, but she agrees to take Juliette to Adriana and Aden.  Being that they are a Risan-Hylian marriage, Aden and Adriana are very willing to help.  Adriana performs a marriage ceremony, binding Pyramus and Juliette.  As a gift, Aden and Adriana give them the use of their weekend cottage for an escape and a honeymoon.  The grateful couple go off to be together without worries or fears.

The next day, Adriana is delighted to receive a visit from Casey, who is still in Miranda with Tugs and Lex.  Casey presents her with a bottle of water from the Twin Lakes, famous for having healing and regenerative powers.  Elsewhere, things begin to go sour.  Juliette's overzealous second in command, Zende, is passing the cottage when he detects what he considers to be a Risan in trouble.  He walks in to find Juliette and Pyramus in the throes of passion and mistakenly assumes that Pyramus is trying to rape Juliette.  He beats Pyramus to a pulp, over Juliette's objections, and drags him back to the Risan camp, where it is immediately decreed that he must be put to death, to serve as an example for his kind.

Juliette and Insa call on the Phoenix Fighters for help.  Armed to the teeth, they arrive at the Risan camp where an army of angry Hylian protesters stands up against the Risans.  Zende and Jana each stir up a great deal of hatred on either side and the situation is elevated when Pyramus is dragged out to be publically put to death.  Right as Zende is about to bring his axe down on Pyramus, however, Juliette gets in the way and ends up being severely injured.  Adriana comes to the rescue, giving her the water from the Twin Lakes.  Zende attempts to stop her, but Insa shoots him with an arrow.

Before the crowd, Pyramus and his healed Juliette embrace.  Adriana declares that they are married and through her power from Aislinn, banishes both Zende and Jana for causing so much trouble.  No one rushes to defend either and they are taken away.  Peace slowly settles over the area.
