The whole House is abuzz with news of Seth Porter's newest book of poetry, solely featuring poems about the Phoenix Fighters.  Less enthusiastic is Lucien, going through a rough patch with Tranns, he wants nothing to do with his ex or his poems, leading Tranns to hide her own copy.  They attempt to rekindle the light of their romance, leaving Star in Adriana's nursery for the night, but it ends in disaster.

The next morning, Tranns discovers a wooden satyr in the nursery with the children.  She brings it to Adriana, who reports never having seen it before.  Aden explains that men touring Risa often carry such symbols around when seeking sexual favors.  He gives it to Philip as a joke.  The afternoon wears on as normal until suddenly, Philip, Tranns, and Adriana all suddenly find themselves transformed into four year olds.

Retaining their intellect, the Phoenix children, along with Aden and Lucien, attempt to determine the cause of the transformation.  Casey runs a few scans on them and determines that the RVN sequences have been leeched off of them.  She suspects this is the doing of some kind of magically manipulated wood and insists on examining all the wood or paper the three have handled.  During this process, Lucien finds Tranns' copy of Seth's book.  Eventually, however, the wooden satyr is determined to be the cause of the change and Casey begins to work on a cure.

Meanwhile, the intellect of Tranns, Adriana, and Philip begins to rapidly deteriorate.  The three of them become increasingly like four year olds, both frightening and fascinating Lucien and Aden.  When Philip's underdeveloped and out of control powers begin to appear in the form of flying objects, Lucien and Aden decide to split the kids up to better keep tabs on them.  Each child is left in the care of his or her significant other.

Philip begins to throw a temper tantrum when Ariadne is unable to provide him with candy.  He makes things fly through the room and the glass mobiles start to shake.  Meanhile, Casey returns to the kitchen to find Lex and Quinn chatting about her.  She recruits them to help her find a way to return the RVN patterns to the children, eventually confessing that she truly has no idea what she's doing.  Quinn provides her with a useful chemical solution to reverse the damage of the totem.  She breaks the spell and the children are restored to adults before Philip can do any real damage.

The Phoenix Fighters decide that the totem must have been planted in the nursery by the Ebene, in the hopes of disabling the leaders of the House.  Everyone praises Casey for her brilliant breakthrough in solving the problem.  She is unable to admit that she needed Quinn's help.  When she goes to Quinn to settle the debt, all he asks for is a kiss.
