Philip and his older brother Gwydion get into a fight, but no one pays it much attention. Philip and Gwydion have
been fighting for as long as anyone can remember. Gwydion goes to Adriana for solace, complaining about how he can't
seem to get Tranns' attention. Adriana comforts him, as she always does, reminding him that there are other fish in
the sea. All in all, it's a perfectly normaly evening, except for the fact that Ariadne gets a sudden dizzy spell that
she cannot account for. A scan from Casey shows that everything is perfectly normal.
The next morning, Adriana and Aden are horrified to discover that someone has been through all the files in the office,
leaving a mess. Aden's symbol detects a powerful aura echo, but they cannot determine who is responsible nor how they
were able to break into the spell bound cabinets. They notice, however, that Gwydion's file is missing. Meanwhile,
Tristan wanders in on Insa giving Gwydion a blanket she made. He insists that she made it for hrself, but Insa doesn't
know what he's talking about. Tristan asks her if something seens odd about Gwydion, but Insa detects nothing unusual,
so Tristan shakes it off.
Downstairs, Gwydion encounters Lucien. Eager to steal some alone time with Tranns, he wagers Lucien that Tristan
and Insa are having an affair. If he wins, Lucien must organize his spell books. Lucien goes up to Insa's room
and learns that, indeed, Insa is having an affair with Tristan. He rushes from the room, horrified, only to be followed
by Insa. In the lobby, the two confront each other about the issue as Gwydion watches. Before the conversation
can finish, a woman with two katanas shows up from nowhere and starts to attack Gwydion. Lucien, Insa, Gwydion, and
Adriana manage to drive off the attack, but they are uncertain who she was working for or what she was.
Gwydion finds himself wracked with guilt over messing up Lucien's relationship with Insa. Meanwhile, Aden and Adriana
dedicate themselves to determining why the creature, which they deduce was sent by the Ebene, wants with Gwydion. He
is a powerful mage, but there are many others in the House and no one has ever expressed any interest in Gwydion. When
things get quiet again, the attack is all but forgotten. Insa and Lucien make amends. Gwydion continues pining
away after Tranns. Philip goes back to resenting his older brother, the son of a great Hylian hero.
Things go awry when a chaos demon appears in the lobby, demanding to know where something called "the Orb" is.
Tranns and Lucien, there to greet the creature, have no idea. They try to fend it off and drive it away, but the creature
takes Tranns hostage. He insists that he will kill her unless the Orb is brought to him. Philip, Gwydion, and
Adriana come rushing to the rescue, at which point, the demon calls Gwydion the Orb. He attempts to kill Gwydion, but
is stopped when the woman with katanas returns. They fight and she destroys the demon.
The woman explains that Gwydion is not actually a Hylian and a Summer, but rather a powerful energy being from another
realm who assumed the identity and planted false memories in the Phoenix Fighters to hide himself from the demon. The
woman works for the PTB and is Gwydion's guardian, who he forgot when he became flesh and blood. She restores him to
his natural state and repairs the memories of the Phoenix Fighters. After they depart, the Phoenix House grows somber.
Tranns explains to Lucien that Gwydion was a real person. He really was Adriana and Philip's older brother, but he died
as an infant.
